What am I up to...?
β¨π§βοΈYay!! Finally able to post what I’ve been squirreling away on for a wee while now. Derwent pencils have just realised a new watercolour pencil range called ‘Chromaqua’, and been collaborating with ‘Bromleys Art Supplies’ behind the scenes to come up with some creative blogs. Here’s one of the tutorials … I wanted to create a little creature that carries a story of our beautiful Earth on its wings.
I’ve imagined his wings as two sides of the whole — the wide open spaces and the intricate details; the vastness of sky, water and distant mountains alongside the abundance of flowers, leaves and tiny seeds found beneath our feet.
One side invites us to look outward, towards the great landscapes and open skies. The other encourages us to look closer, into the delicate abundance that nature gifts us. Yet they are never separate. They are part of the same beautiful, interconnected world. And hidden amongst all those details is a little spiral tucked into the fur beneath his head. A tiny reminder of the patterns and rhythms that repeat throughout nature πππ
